What Our Guests Have To Say

Peaceful. The house was very comfortable. This was a great get away place, and we look forward to going back again. The views from sitting out in the patio were incredible, enjoyed the rolling hills and the olive orchard that surrounded our place. Our place was stocked for continental breakfast our entire stay, we really enjoyed the scones that were provided (homemade?). We truly didn’t want to leave this place during the day, and didn’t want to leave when it was time.

Such a beautiful guest house! Very nice details and construction, great layout, plenty of space. Best part are the views of olive orchard and the rolling vineyard hills beyond. Amazing sunrise and sunset! Definitely reminded me of the Tuscan hillside. Very private and quiet property and a very short drive to town and also wine tasting. Nice amenities with outdoor patio, WiFi, Cable TV, great stereo, fully stocked kitchen. And of course delicious olive oil made on premise!

Enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening just watching the sunset. The cottage was very clean and I highly recommend that you should stay here 🙂

Tranquil, beautiful sunsets on private veranda. Private cottage with separate bedroom, bath and living quarters which were prefect for us since one of us gets up a lot earlier than the other. Great location looking over Paso Robles for wine tasting and visiting downtown Paso Robles. You will not want to leave.

Gorgeous property! The view from the back patio is stunning. Property owners are extremely accommodating and ensured that we had our privacy. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely stay there in the future!

We loved our stay in the cottage surrounded by well-cared-for gardens and olive orchard. Every plant on the property was carefully selected and nurtured. The owners really paid attention to detail for the guests from a lovely, no-pressure breakfast items stocked in the kitchen to the places to sit outside and enjoy the breezes. They picked the perfect spot on top of a hill for gorgeous views, privacy but also convenience to wineries and downtown. The cottage was decorated with taste and class- not too cluttered but comfortable and homey. We enjoyed our friendly hosts but felt like we had temporarily inherited our own private estate. Very clean and obviously cared for. Photos do not do it justice.

My husband and I spent four nights at Alta Cresta while exploring Central Coast wineries. The photos do not do justice to the beauty of the cottage! Immaculately kept and welcoming , we found cheese, wine and bread upon arrival. Every morning, a new breakfast treat awaited us. We especially enjoyed meeting with Ron for an oil tasting, which was also excellent. We loved walking through the grove and neighborhood. We would highly recommend staying at Alta Cresta and if we ever find ourselves in this area again, we would not hesitate to be repeat customers.

I hesitate to write this, because I want this gem to be available for us when we want to go back. We can’t have this place become TOO popular! The pictures of the cottage simply can’t do it justice. It’s way bigger than it looks, has a great floor plan, it’s immaculately kept, and the location is fantastic. We were really in Paso for some serious wine-tasting (Susan marveled at the fact that we were up early and gone all day) and this was the perfect launch pad for such a trip. The breakfast items changed each morning, and it was always better than your typical continental fare. The cottage is private and quiet, with it’s own outdoor space and killer views. The bathroom shower is a highlight, and they provide bath amenities made with olive oil – a nice touch. We found Susan to be delightful; she even mailed us back some jewelry and -ahem- unmentionables that we left behind. We fell in love with Paso Robles… and we fell in love with Alta Cresta. We will absolutely be back.

My husband and I stayed at Alta Cresta a year ago, but it sticks out as one of the best locations we have ever been to. We fell in love with the area and the Olive Cottage made our trip as we traveled down the coast of California. The house is comfortable, well cared for, spotless, and full on luxury. The owners provided wine, cheese, olive oil, and bread at check in which made our first night lovely. We were able to have a lovely walk all around the property and enjoyed seeing the hills, vines, and trees everywhere. The owners could not have been more kind, helpful, and wonderful hosts. We were so sad when we finished our last bottle of Olive Oil upon our return home. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Our experience exceeded our expectations and we look forward to returning again. The cottage is comfortable, spacious and well appointed. We especially enjoyed having the kitchen stocked with coffee, yogurt, granola, breakfast pastries, and juice. The veranda out back was a relaxing place to enjoy breakfast, take in the view and plan our day of exploring and wine tasting. Despite the warm weather the covered veranda remained pleasantly cool and shaded. The cottage was also very private and my wife enjoyed walking through the olive orchard. This is truly a very special find and and a first rate alternative to a traditional hotel or B&B. We highly recommend the Olive Cottage at Alta Cresta to any looking for private, comfortable and relaxing getaway.

My husband and I wanted a few days in the wine country of Paso Robles while visiting our son and his family in Los Angeles. We picked the Olive Cottage from the description on VRBO. It surpassed our expectations. We had originally considered staying right in the heart of Paso Robles, but are very happy that we made the decision to stay in the beautiful countryside outside the town. The accommodations are first rate with many special touches. From the delicious olive oil, wine and bread upon arrival to the luxurious bathrobes and olive based bath items, it is apparent that Susan and Ron have strived to make this cottage a very special getaway. They are both delightful hosts who are there if you need them, but never intrusive. The highlight of our stay might have been watching the sunset from the patio overlooking the olive orchards — it truly rivals the views in Tuscany. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
